Runner on first, the pitcher throws the ball in the dirt, the catcher blocks the ball, keeping it in front of him, the runner still advances before a play can be made, how is this scored? stolen base or wild pitch?

That's a wild pitch as long as the runner didn't begin his break until he saw the ball in the dirt. Any pitch that hits the dirt before getting to the catcher and allows the runner to advance is a wild pitch.
Had the runner been stealing on the pitch, he would get credit for a stolen base, since he had already started to run before the pitch was thrown.
